MEMORIAL PAGE

The information on this page was supplied by Jackie Callahan. Her Late Father was a 576 Sqn navigator who flew from Fiskerton in F/O Carter's crew, from December 1944 completing his tour by the end of hostilities.

He was: F/Sgt. Dennis Ovenden.Born 23/12/23 in Bermondsey, Sth. london.  After the war, he worked for the GEC company, owned a sweet/toy shop and became the Foreshore Attendant at Herne Bay, kent. He married, had one child and two Grandchildren. He remained in contact with his pilot F/O Ian (Mick) Carter until his death on 13th february 1995-fifty-years to the day they were returning from Dresden and had to make an emergency landing in France because of engine trouble.
